Lipstick is as much a staple to me as a little black dress! I am huge fan of a bold lip and find it an easy and fun way to create a more interesting makeup look without much effort. Here are my favorite shades from nude to bold just in time for Valentine's day!

There is nothing sweeter than Valentine's day and to kick off the month of love, I decided to throw a girl's only "Galentine's day" soiree to celebrate some of my dearest girlfriends and their little ladies. While the mommy's adorned handmade Valentine's cards, our littles made friendship bracelets for their friends or their mommy's. It was perfect occasion to celebrate with our little sweeties.
Each mommy had a personalized scrap box ready for crafting along with a plethora of sticker and rhinestone embellishments and markers. 
No party is official without a little bubbly and Lindor Milk Chocolate! 
Our " I love you more than wine" printable was my favorite!
The little ladies noshed on heart shaped PB & Js, pink lemonade and strung beads to make their friendship bracelets.

I've been really into sleek black lines lately. There is nothing more chic then simple black. When I got a hold of these great loose fitting black pants I was in heaven. I paired them with a leather bomber, cashmere sweater and pop of leopard for drinks with my girlfriends but have also been lounging in them constantly!

So I did. I thought of my biggest gifts of all time my baby girls. I thought vividly of their perfect little faces and sweet little hands. I thought of my handsome husband, who at any moments notice sweeps in and protects me from everything scary and can make me laugh until my tummy hurts. I thought of my parents, who constantly and unconditionally support my every thought and whim. I thought of my friends who endlessly listen to my gibberish about fashion and makeup until their eyes glaze over. This could take a long time...
This week I attended my second ALT Summit conference, Dallas Clayton spoke at our last keynote and to be honest I hadn't heard of him. He casually jogs up the stairs with messy, long hair, rainbow sneakers and old sweater with his illustration on it. He begins to ramble on, looking at the floor and pacing around the room about funny and nonsensical topics about his adventures. Where was he going with all of this? He goes on to say there are " no rules" which seems very fitting considering his casual approach to this whole thing. He says "have an adventure". Again not surprised by this. He goes on and that's when it clicks and we all feel it. He encourages us to get our noses out of our phones and computers and live our lives. Go get lost. Go have an adventure. Have stories to tell.
He finishes his talk with a portion of his still untitled new book. I was moved to tears. The man writes the most incredible, moving, hilarious children's books I've ever heard. He is the modern day Dr. Suess.
I can't get my hands on his books quick enough. I want my girls to hear what I heard and feel what I feel. I want us to have stories to tell. I've decided to give my littles each of his books on Valentine's Day. I can't think of a better way to "think of someone I love".

I've always kept my beauty routine very simple and really like keeping natural and fresh. With that said, this mama needs a little oomph added in there every now and then. I've been wearing red lips off and on for a while now and have resoluted to the fact that it's my all time favorite and not going anywhere. A classic red lip takes a simple two second beauty look that seems like it must have taken much more time. Here is my go to, easy peasy, always look pulled together makeup look that I rock basically every day. 1. After washing my face and applying my aging oil, eye cream and SPF, I sweep foundation all over face and under eyes. Make sure to blend foundation down neck and on ears so you avoid any harsh lines.
2. Next, using a fan brush I sweep bronzer under cheek bones, onto temples and down middle of neck.
3. Using a angled blush brush I dust blush onto apples of cheeks for natural flush.
4. Now for the finishing touches… line lips and fill in whole lip with red lip liner to help color last.
4. Fill in lips carefully with red lip stain. Make sure to keep outer lines super tidy. Red lips have to be super sharp to look chic.
5. Now for my favorite part, the highlighter. Apply cream highlighter to cheekbones and temples. Blend well for perfect "light catching" glow.
Voila! The perfect look for any occasion. Chic for the office, polished for any date night or party and fresh for everyday life. Done and done!

Spring is upon us even though our weather doesn't quite feel like it. I love flipping through magazines this time of year as the fresh pastels fill the pages. Happy 2015!!! Man, 2014 was a blip on my radar! It came and went so fast! Why does that happen?! So, no resolutions for me this year. I've decided to instead craft the woman I want to be. Anyone else devour their body weight in carbs and cocktails this holiday season? No, no one?? Well I did and wasn't even mad about it ,until I really noticed the "winter coat" take effect. Comm'on, girls! You know the "winter coat" ! The puffy layer from the holidays that needs to "beat it "asap!
